AQHA Mare 22YO solid paint sorrel, a little over 15 H.H., rides english OR western, great with men, livestock, dogs, and cars. Very gentle, not headshy, stands for farrier, and is super calm. I think she would probably make a good beginners horse considering how calm/gentle she is and a good listener under saddle. The only reason I'm selling this sweetie is because my husband wants a younger horse. I don't own a trailer therefore it would be simpler for me if you could do the hauling.

As short as that trailer is, I doubt it is made for tall horses. A tall horse would have his head well over the front 'roof'. The hitch area looks like a really scary welded on piece of metal that would probably fall off on the first trip.

The floor will need replaced. ( I am 130 and fell through it). The tires will need replaced as well. The jack doesn't like to go up. I have hooked it up and pulled it, and it pulls great. I have only moved this trailer once, and it was empty.

I purchased this trailer in spring of 08' from Idaho. I used to haul my 15.1 QH and it pulled great. I only used this trailer for a few months and it has sat for over a year now. The floor is sturdy and in great shape, the bearings were packed when I bought it. I was in the middle of upgrading this trailer when I moved. On the bottom of the doors is a 5" strip is cut off. ( It was rusting away) I have replaced one door section but not the other(as you can see in the picture). The interior side walls are plywood. My plan was to attach rubber sheets to the plywood so the interior would be rubber. All the lights work and the tires are decent. I have taken most of the original wood out and primed underneath. The tack compartment has also been primed and comes with new carpet that just needs cutting to fit.

I picked this up for $200. Has escape door, feed manger, enclosed front storage.
Wheels and hubs are 1936-38 Ford so this was ranchmade around 1940ish.
Actually much sturdier than it looks. Yes I'll be putting canvas back on the top.

We use it for goats, llamas and donkeys + hay hauling.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to the blog. I spent almost 2 weeks in North and South Dakota. Beautiful country and perfect weather made for a great (and long overdue) vacation.

In addition, I've been spending lots of time with Dex as cold, wet weather and short days are just around the corner.

Stock type Bison for sale. It is a 2 horse slant, remove the divider and it is a 3 horse trailer. I have added many things to the trailer, 2 saddle racks, and shelving, many hooks for the tack, all is located on the divider wall so it not in the way if you need to haul 3 horses. It has good tires, nice floor and all lights work. Only has one minor flaw to fix. The tack/ dressing room is a nice size. Ready to haul. It is used on a weekly basis. I am asking $1600 OBO, also have lots of tack for sale.

1971 MILEY two horse. Make a great work utility trailer as well. Very minimal rust for it's age.
Tack storage under the manger. Two feed mangers, with quick release ties. Front windows on each side.

Tires are still good. Floor is great!
Needs the bearings packed and needs a paint job. Both cheap fixes but I have reduced the price down from $1250.

I have a Horse trailer for sale, I used it for 4H with my Daughter and now the horse is gone. I had the intent of repainting this trailer white but never did, it has some rust in the upper panels of the Body Only, I have inspected the frame and it is as strong as you will ever get. This trailer is made for Large Horses, it is over 7 feet tall inside. All the electrical works excellent, marker lights, Tail lights, turn and stop light's. Alos the electric brakes work real good, this is a Tandem Axle Dual wheel trailer made for Heavy load's it followeds and rides with horses inside like a dream, very smooth Trailer for animals. It has room up front for Tack, it also has the Emergency escape door in front for unruley horses you dare not walk past inside this is a special feature a lot of trailer's do not have.
I am asking almost 1/2 of what I paid for it. I am firm on the price . My cell phone went for a swim, so email will have to work until I can get this resolved . I have a bacup phone that seems to be working my # is xxx-xxx-xxxx

The rear door drops down as a loading ramp, it is gently sloped. Note: If I cant sell it at this price them I am going to Paint it and ask More, it is a Horse trailer not a Ferrari , I have the equipment to do the job, and have done it for years, with a slow market, I may have to but I will ask more as it will look nice.

I got tired of the weeds, snow, and dirt roads tearing them off) intereior horse area lights new paint and primer (outside. intereior is primered but needs a color) good solid floors new jack W. wheel and plate feet included I pull it fully loaded with my f-150 v8 and it dosent have to work at all. trailer pulls and stops like there is nothing there.nice and streight. my boyfriend even pulled it with his 1988 dodge dakota v6 with 2 horses in it and it had no problem at all. the fenders are painted but have pitting holes due to age. they are safe i can stand and jump up and down on them and they dont even bend at all. rear doors at bottem have some rust but a couple simple welds could fix that. but they are safe. no horses has ever steped out of my traier hurt in any way. most horses really enjoy the ride. please feel free to contact me for any more information. weight: 4,030lb. i have a horse trailer i bought off a guy for 500 bucks a year ago and i just never got to refinishing it. He used it for a pool installation business. Axles are strong and it pulls great down the road. Electric brakes and 2" ball hitch. This is solid, but cosmetically injured trailer.

needs a little sheet metal work along the bottoms, one new tire, left side fender, one part of the roof to be bumped out and this is a great low cost trailer we pulled with a V6 f-150. I don"t really want to haggle with the price so i will go as low as $425 and it is yours. i would like to get most of my money back.

This looks like a bumperpull that was welded onto a GN front.
I'm not a big fan of mangers - it does not allow the horse to lower their head to clear their airways. I'm particularly sensitive to this because I had a horse with a health issue. This would have been torture for him as he needed to lower his head frequently to be able to cough so he could breathe.

This great little 2 horse trailer is very sturdy and red. it has great tires with lots of tread. It's back door has been altered to side open because she couldn't lift the ramp, it could be switched back easily by you!
It does not have a title at this time, we can give you a bill of sale and you can easily get a homemade trailer title to get it plated!
This trailer doesn't look like much but is nice and sturdy, has hauled wood, horses, cows, ets. It is well-made and reliable.
it does not have a jack in front, we currently use a car jack and a big wooden block, one could be welded on easily though.

Nice 2 horse bumper pull trailer. Brand new treated floor. Frame was sandblasted and painted before floor was installed. 4 new tires and spare. Our new QH won't get in it because she's used to a stock trailer. I now have two trailers and this one needs to go. I have over $3500 invested, asking $2000. Will consider trade for a small tractor with a mower, or a heavy duty riding mower.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, here's the rest of the story. I don't want you driving to Nelsonville thinking this trailer looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.

If you buy a horse trailer, look up 'what to look for when buying a horse trailer' on the innerwebs before you buy a trailer, and not after. I didn't. I'm impulsive, and I'm also a bit of a moron.

I purchased this trailer from an individual in Southeast Ohio. It looked nice. Sure, it had a bit of rust on the inside trim around the edges, but the floor and tires are the main thing, and the ad said the floor was 'solid', the tires were 'good'. Apparently, 'solid' means you can put your hand through half of the floor boards if you give it a push. Wouldn't it be cool to have your horse's foot go through the floor of your trailer, and break it off at the knee! Sweet! My bad for not inspecting thoroughly. Soooo, to remedy this, I had the ENTIRE FREAKING FLOOR REMOVED and professionally rebuilt by welder Steve Weimer in Carroll. He does a nice job if you need work done. The floor is solid. There were two spots where the frame was rusting through(apparently, that equates to 'SOLID' in a Craig's list posting). He sandblasted the frame, and beat it up with an air hammer to knock all of the rust off. It was in more solid than he originally thought, but he reinforced the spots with more than surface rust with 1/4 inch steel plates. He then replaced all of the floor boards with new pressure treated 2x6s. I woudln't hesitate to load my daughter's horse in it now without fear of some horrific accident that would require decades of therapy for her..... that is provided the $&*&#*^@ thing would go near it.

The ad also said 'good tires'. Being the impulsive type, I gave them a cursory look and noted they had decent tread. When I went to hook up the trailer to drag it up to the aforementioned welder, one of the 'good' tires was flat. Being past the adrenaline infused fog that typically impedes me from any rational purchase decision, I inspected the 'good' tires a bit further and noticed a bit of dry rot, and the fact that they weren't even trailer tires, but RADIAL FREAKING CAR TIRES. Not only that, but they weren't all the same size, and there wasn't a spare. To remedy this, I purchased all brand new trailer rated tires(6 ply rated for 1820 lbs each), including a spare. I wouldn't hesitate to load a horse on the new floor, and wouldn't hesitate to drive on these awesome new tires.

Now for the rest of the warts. The floor frame, and frame for the sidewalls are very solid. Some of the trim inside, and wood that lines the back and side doors isn't in the best shape. I had thick plywood installed all around the bottom half of the inside as a kick plate to protect any horse that rides in it. The floor of the storage under the manger has a few rusted spots. That's mostly cosmetic, but wanted to note. If you plan to have a wedding reception in it, that would be a huge problem, but if you're just hauling horses who have no greater wish than to take a dump on the floor, it's all good.

The individual I purchased the trailer from said he 'rewired' it himself. Apparently he is no electrician by trade. The trailer has an RV type plug, but my truck had a 4-pin plug. When I looked at the trailer, nothing worked when I plugged it into my truck. Did this deter me? HECK NO! NOT MR. IMPULSIVE!!! Trailer sales dude assured me it was probably an issue with my truck, and not the trailer wiring. When I went back a few days later, the brake and tail lights worked(through an adaptor to fit the RV plug to my 4 pin plug)! MIRACLE! I now have an RV type plug installed on my truck for my other trailer, and when I plug this trailer in, nothing lights up. I do know all of the lights work, as I've seen them all light up when Trailer sales dude's neighbors were hitting the wires with some type of battery charger thing when I first looked at the trailer. It mesmerized me like a retarded circus monkey staring at a picture of banannas. Basically, someone needs to crack open the wiring harness and figure out what's jacked up, or why it's mad at my truck.. They had worked with my 4 pin, but not so much now. I know it has to match your truck with how the wires are lined up, and it obviously doesn't match mine. I'm not about to touch it, as I mentioned above, I'm a bit of a moron.

The trailer stops with no problem. It's 1720 pounds, which is pretty light. The trailer has brakes on the rear axle, but I haven't had them checked. Given that I'm not sure about how he wired the trailer, heck, the brakes may have never been engaged, and the pads might be brand new! I store the trailer on top of a hill accessible by a steep gravel driveway, and coming down the hill is not an issue, so it stops very well.

I paid $1700 for this trailer. I then put over $1000 in the floor/frame. I also have $600 worth of new tires on it, plus odds and ends. I'll consider it a costly life lesson on inspecting used merchandise. I started out asking $3000, but that isn't happening. I'm not a trailer salesman, nor do I have any desire to be. First $2000 takes it. I won't take a penny less. If I still have it in 6 months, I'll fill it with the old rotten floor and tree trimmings, douse it with gas and have a $3500 bon fire. Heck, I may do it anyway to see how much heat it takes to melt 1/4 steel plates.

The price reduction is more than enough to fix whatever wiring faux paus the dude managed to cojure up. Heck, it might cost nothing and take 5 minutes if you know your way around a trailer. I'd also check the brake pads, although trailers don't get a ton of miles on them, and brake pads last a while. Do that, and you'll have yourself a darn solid trailer that I would haul any horse in. It does pull great and you don't even know it's behind you. There are also heavy rubber mats that cover the floor that aren't in the picture. The debris in the pic is just pine shavings I had in there when attempting to get horsey on board, and perhaps just a bit of my faith in mankind.

Also, if your name happens to be 'Pastor Ken', and you want me to arrange payment via your 'financier', please do not apply. Also, if you live in Belfast, or are overseas in the military, and wish the trailer to be shipped to Spain, please don't bother. I'm impulsive and a moron, but c'mon people.

This trailer is unique in that it has a side ramp and rear ramp for easy loading/unloading! It has also has an emergency door on the driver's side. It has lots of storage space in the attic area and has been professionally painted white in 2009. Flooring is new with rubber stall mats and all wiring is new for both lights and RV Plug. This trailer is thoroughbred height at 7"6. It is equipped with a brand new 8500lb Ramsey Winch and 250 gallon water tank.. The winch operates off of a brand new Optima battery. Winch/battery/water tank can be sold separately. This trailer looks brand new and has no rust. Bearings were greased in 2009.

I was looking for information on an old Triggs trailer I bought from Indiana and found your website. How funny! I found the trailer on the Feb 4 blog... It's the one that said "DOGS" all over it. I like weird old trailers anyway, and was looking for a light fiberglass one to put a horse or two in to go to the park, or store my 4 wheelers or some hay. I'm living proof that the saying "there's an ass for every seat" is true. This thing is sooo ugly, it's cool. Kinda like a bad car wreck, you have to look because it's horrible and facinating at the same time!

I have started restoring it and have included a before and after pic of the exterior to show what new tires and wheels, some EZ-Off oven cleaner , and three hours of my time can do to start polishing this turd!

The dressing room does not have any dog cages but I think at some point they had kennel cabs or some similar type of cage in there. Instead of a solid wall, it has a steel expanded metal wall for ventilation, which further reinforced the steel frame inside the fiberglass. The hay rack on the roof is bolted into the steel frame and is actually really solid. You called it right on the pool ladder, but it has no-skid on all the rungs and on the edge of the roof, so it is not hard to go up or down at all. I live in south Florida, so I will never put hay up there, but it will easily hold my John Lyons portable corral panels or other non perishable stuff I don't wanna put in the dressing room.

The trailer is 8' wide and has three slants inside. It also has six roof vents with fans, sliding windows all around, and side vents. All the lights, including the loading lights ,work, and the only repairs it needs are one board in the floor, and new draw pull latches on the horse windows.

This thing is so randomly cool...I think turd trailers need luv too! I will send you more pics when I get it completely finished. Let me know what you think...

I am offering my older 1957 2 Horse Miley Bumper Pull trailer for sale. For an older trailer it's in great condition. The tires are in great condition with about 80% + tread left on them. It has a swivel partitian bar that can be moved side to side or even removed if needed. The flooring is in great condition, when I purchased this trailer 3 years ago they had just replaced the wood boards and the rubber matting and I have used this trailer less than 10x in the past 3 years. There is also a low step up making it easy for horses to load. This trailer also has an escape door and 2 small side windows to have easy access to snap the horses in. The electrical all works, it has a 4 prong adapter. There are permanent tags on this trailer. This trailer has hauled horses as big as 15.3hh and could possibly fit larger horses considering that they trailer well. The dimensions of the trailer are 6' tall, 6.5' long inside, 4.5-5' wide. This trailer is light enough to be hauled by a V6 SUV or Truck no problem. This is a single axle trailer and is such an easy haul. There is a tack storage compartment located below the feeders in the front of the trailer, where a fairly new spare tire is kept.

I am asking $800 cash firm. I have the pink slip in hand and the trailer is clean and ready to go. Email if interested in coming down to see it. Thank You for viewing this ad
